The Chicago area is well-known for its pizza, and for good reason! Whether you prefer meat lover’s, veggie, pepperoni, or the classic cheese, there’s no denying that pizza is a wonderful food, and there’s no better place to find it than here.
So, without further ado, here are our favorite spots for grabbing a slice (or two) of pizza in Oak Park!
Edwardo’s Natural Pizza
Edwardo’s made their name in the Chicago-style stuffed pizza business, and it shows in the quality of their pizzas. Founded in 1978, they strive to serve their customers the finest pizzas, calzones, pasta, and more. Though they specialize in the classic Chicago-style stuffed pizzas, they also offer thin crust pizzas and gluten-free thin crust pizzas.
Their menu also includes a variety of appetizers, salads, build-your-own-calzones, sandwiches, and desserts.
We would be remiss in making a list of pizzerias if we didn’t mention Giordano’s! This Chicago classic first opened in 1974 and has a variety of locations across the Chicago area, including one in Oak Park.
There’s a reason why this restaurant is so highly rated–they offer pizzas of the highest quality, and while their specialty is Mama Giordano’s classic recipe, they also offer thin crust pizzas, pasta dishes, salads, and a kid’s menu.
Di Nico’s Pizza
If you’re looking for traditional Italian food made from old family recipes, why not try Di Nico’s? In addition to their delicious pizza, they also offer frozen yogurt (USDA certified organic if you’re curious).
All of the components for their pizza, from the dough to the sauce and vegetables, are prepared fresh in the kitchen every day.
If you’re interested in winning a Di Nico’s t-shirt and a potential record, try their Di Nico’s Challenge: eat 2 slices of pizza in less than 30 minutes. The current record was set by Matt Etherington, with a staggering time of three minutes and eleven seconds. Please note that the Challenge only takes place at the La Grange location on Mondays.
